MJ wore her costume for about 30 minutes. Enough time for pictures and to visit the neighbors. It was still pretty hot here, she was much happier once it was off. But it was cute while it lasted!

Busy Weekend

These were from the weekend before last. Grandpa Byron & Uncle Patrick were here for the Cowboys game. Josh had a great time...as you can see from the pictures below he and Patrick were still recovering the day after the game.

MJ and I spent a little time with Lindsey & her family. And then got to hang with the guys for a couple of meals. It was nice to see everyone!

I remembered to pack MJ's swim suite! Isn't it cute? Wow, was it fun to get on...not! I packed a hat for her too. As you can see I did not try it on her first, it is way too small! Poor kid, Mommy will get it right someday.

Here we are with my nephew Luke, he is 2 1/2 and way too much fun! Check out those "Spider man Muscles" and that cool tattoo on his chest! He calls his cousin "Kinney".



This is the first time MJ felt the grass on her feet and she seemed really happy! When we put her in here she jumps and squeels...too funny!

Grocery Day

MJ and I had to go to the grocery store today, so we tried out her shopping cart cover for the 1st time! She sat up great in it for about ten minutes, and then she wound up leaning back the rest of the time. I should have gotten a picture of that too:)

Dr. Visit - 6 Months

Well we went for M.J.'s 6 month check-up today. As all of you parents know this is not fun. M.J. received 4 shots, 2 in each leg, & screamed all the way through it. It is just so sad. One of the injections was a flu shot and she will have to go back in a month for the second part of that. Then we will be done with the shots for a little bit. Yeah! We were told at her 9 month appointment there will be no shots!

Now for the good stuff...M.J. is having no problem in the growing department! She weighs 17.4 pounds and is 25 inches tall. It is just amazing how fast she is growing.

We can start introducing finger foods and the sippy cup! Stay tuned for updates on all of that...ha.

Grandma's Visit

Josh's mom came for a quick weekend visit. We had a great time. She sure knows how to spoil her granddaughter!

We did lots of shopping! She bought us this cool "family sized" towel for M.J. to play on. Which has proven to be wise already, because it also fits all of the toys on it that grandma bought her to play with! But that's not all...M.J. has a great fall wardrobe now too!

I can't tell you how nice it was to be out of the house!

Video - Sucking Top Lip in Saucer

This was taken a couple of weeks ago. She had just started sucking her top lip. It was so loud & so funny. She really hasn't done it much since. Sorry about the TV noise in the back round...we were watching "Office Space".

6 Months Old!!!

Starting to sit on her own a little bit. No, she cannot feed herself. She just likes to play with the bottle when she is done eating.
Wow! That went so fast! Josh and I are officially exhausted. McKinney has been sleeping through the night since about 2 1/2 months old, but a week ago she decided to start waking up again. Multiple times a night at all different hours each night. She gets very upset and does not calm down easily. It is oh so much fun.

She is not teething, I look everyday. I have been doing a lot of research trying to figure out why and of course everything sounds like a possibility to a new mom. Separation anxiety seems to be common around this age so the books say. And they also say that baby could be so excited about her new skills, like rolling over, that she is trying to do them in her sleep and is waking herself up!

We have tried everything from just letting her cry...she just gets more upset, to trying to get in there right away before she wakes herself up too much. I try not to pick her up. I just rub her back (she rolls on her side) or belly and she falls back asleep, but by the time I climb back in bed she is crying again! I just keep telling myself this is just a little phase and she will just start sleeping soundly again soon.

If you have any advise, pleeease comment. We are willing to listen to anything!

MJ & Lute

This is for Uncle Brandon:) MJ loves Lute, she watches him run around the house and reaches for him when he approaches her. He thinks she can play ball with him and nudges her arm with his nose.

Here's what MJ has been up to lately:

MJ's first time in the pool! It was a spur of the moment decision...so no swim suit. She wasn't quite sure what to think! She loves her saucer...and I love her chubby little legs.MJ has become a great eater, this is one of our first attempts in the high chair.
She is eating all kinds of things like: oatmeal, rice cereal, peas, green beans, squash, carrots, applesauce, pears, peaches, bananas...oh what a mess!
